Essential skills for Agile project management

The Scrum Master plays an important role in Agile project management, serving as a facilitator and advocate for the Scrum framework. This role is accountable for fostering a collaborative and self-managing environment within the Agile team. Accountabilities include ensuring adherence to Agile principles, removing impediments to progress and ensuring effective communication. The Scrum Master also supports continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality, value-driven outcomes. Ultimately, the Scrum Master acts as a servant-leader, encouraging a culture of openness, adaptability and continuous learning within the Agile team.

Participants in this two-day course will acquire the skills necessary for programme delivery as an Agile Scrum Master. This course is also uniquely structured to align with the Government Digital Service (GDS) Standards, ensuring that participants not only learn the essentials of Scrum but also understand delivery principles within the context of government and public sector digital delivery projects.

Designed by Agile coaches with years of practical experience working on GDS Service Standards compliant government and public sector projects; this CPD Certification Service accredited two-day Agile training course workshop combines PowerPoint presentations, real-world exercises, and informal discussions to introduce you to Agile Scrum as a Delivery Method, without the impending pressure of having to pass a formal certification examination.

Previous experience in Agile delivery is not a pre-requisite to attending the course although it is assumed that delegates will have already attended the Agile Scrum as a Delivery Method Primer course or have some understanding of Agile terms.
